In this project-based class, students will create artworks in felt through the needle felting process. The art of needle felting includes producing works that are mildly to highly sculptural. Artists will utilise relief and dimensional aspects to create pieces that may be both functional and sculptural. With barbed felting needles and wool, students will create a landscape (with a picture reference), a dreamscape, a mask, animal portraits, "Blob-imals" (vaguely animal-like creatures), then expand their repertoire to include limbed creatures that are both still and articulated.
