Saskatoon Explore Program

May 2 to June 2 (except May 24 which is a statutory holiday)

Accredited by the Council of Ministers of Education Canada (CMEC), Explore is a French Immersion program specifically designed for students to study French as a Second Language. Students come from across Canada to learn French and experience French culture. The program features interest-based workshops, excursions in the surrounding area, socio-cultural activities, and more.

Students learn themes, vocabulary, and grammar taught with the communicative and experiential methods, participate in group projects and excursions, and focus on conversation, discussions, and debates. Lessons are level-specific, access is provided to French multi-media resources in our library and our multimedia lab, and participants have full University of Saskatchewan student privileges such as access to physical activity centres, counselling, librairies, student health, computer services, etc.

  • Beginner to advanced (4 levels)
  • 141 hours over 5 weeks
  • Offered once annually in spring

Bursaries

The Explore program provides $2,800 (taxable income) that covers the major expenses for participating in the program. The funding covers tuition fees for the programs, instructional materials, meals and accommodations, workshops, and other mandatory activities. A non-refundable registration fees and travel expenses are not covered.
