Intro to Stained Glass: Lead Method

$260 (includes tool rental fee) plus $50 glass fee (required)
Prerequisite: None
Learn to create beautiful stained glass artwork. In this class, you will learn how to cut out your pattern pieces. Then how to grind and fit them into place. Next, you will wrap each piece with copper foil and burnish them. Finally, you will flux and solder your pattern together. Finally, you will thoroughly clean up and polish. We can patina the finished piece black or copper if you wish. For registered students, access to most tools will occur in studio.

- Choosing your glass colours
- Cutting practice with clear class
- Cutting the pattern pieces in coloured glass
- Laying out the pattern and lead bars
- Soldering
- Mudding the joints

- Glass, paid on registration and provided in class

- Pencil
- 12 or 18 inch ruler
- Sharpie ultra fine tip black marker
- Hammer
- Rags
- Safety glasses
- Rubber gloves
