This course is designed for photographers and enthusiasts who want to master Adobe Lightroom Classic. Over five weeks, you will learn how to efficiently organize, edit, and export photos with Lightrooms powerful tools. From basic adjustments to advanced editing techniques, this course will provide you with the skills needed to take your photos from raw files to stunning finished images. By the end of the course, you will have a polished portfolio of edited images and a streamlined photo management workflow.  A basic understanding of photography concepts (e.g., exposure, composition) is helpful but not required.

Syllabus

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
  • Navigate Lightroom Classic’s interface and understand its modules
  • Import and organize images efficiently with collections, keywords, and metadata
  • Perform basic and advanced image editing techniques, including exposure correction, colour grading, and sharpening
  • Use local adjustments and masking tools to refine specific areas of an image
  • Create and apply custom presets for consistent editing
  • Export and share images for social media, print, and web use
  • Be proficient in Lightroom Classic but also will have developed a solid workflow for editing and managing their photography projects

Supplies

  • Access to Adobe Lightroom Classic
  • A basic understanding of photography concepts (e.g., exposure, composition) is helpful but not required
  • A computer with internet access, webcam, and microphone for live sessions
  • Practice images will be provided for in class activities, but students should use their personal image files for weekly assignments, preferable in RAW format
