Sumiko Asai joined our program in the fall of 1991. Sensei Sumiko teaches all levels of Japanese, as well as The Japanese for the Traveller class which she helped develop. She is much appreciated for her great knowledge of the Japanese language as well as her ability to clearly explain. Students comment repeatedly on the friendly atmosphere, feeling okay making mistakes, the thorough repetition, and the opportunities to practice speaking.
