Martin Gonzalez Spanish

Martin has been with our program since 2003 and teaches the beginner levels of Spanish. He is a life-long learner, and believes learning a language is a journey commanding a lot of commitment and effort, but that it can also be a lot of fun.

Martin Gonzalez joined our teaching corps in the fall of 2003. Martin has taught a variety of different levels, but currently teaches the beginner levels of Spanish. Students have commented and appreciated the fun, the learning pace, the amount of speaking practice that they have had in his classes. Martin knows how to aptly create a very interactive and participatory learning environment for all of his students.

Martin on teaching:

I am a life-long learner, and I bring the same passion to learning as to my teaching.

Learning a language is a journey commanding a lot of commitment and effort, but it can be a lot of fun. My two main objectives in the classroom are to motivate students and to remain flexible in the delivery of my teaching. I therefore bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm so that students enjoy their journey and develop a desire to learn Spanish and to appreciate the Hispanic/Latino culture. I strive to remain flexible in regards to the resources and tools that I bring to the classroom. I continuously look for new ways to present the material so as to enrich the learning process and to address the diverse needs of my students.

Our communicative method provides an opportunity to focus on listening and conversational skills, giving our students more confidence to put in practice what they learn through cooperative learning, games, small group work, and audio-visual activities.
