Kerri Anderson French and Portuguese

Kerri has been with our program since 2011 and teaches Portuguese and French. Having learned several languages as an adult, she believes that learning a second or third language allows us to better understand another culture and see the world from a different perspective.

Kerri Anderson joined our teaching corps in 2011. Kerri teaches all levels of Portuguese and lower levels of French. She holds a B.Ed. from McGill, and an M.A. and M.Ed. from Framingham State University. She has taught for over 20 years in Saskatchewan, Quebec and in Brazil where she enjoyed interacting with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Kerri works hard to teach her students how to express themselves clearly and confidently in their second language.

Kerri on teaching: I love teaching because it requires me to be creative and flexible while interacting with diverse groups of students. Through teaching tools such as music, video clips, and games, my students learn meaningful vocabulary and expressions, and practise expressing themselves clearly and confidently in their second language. Having learned several languages as an adult, I truly believe that learning a second or third language allows us to better understand another culture and enables us to see the world from a different perspective. It also makes travelling more exciting and can increase employment opportunities.
