Candace on teaching: I think that it is really important for the my students that they see a confident teacher so that they can gain confidence in themselves. Having hands-on-practice in a language teaching setting, allows students to better understand our spirituality, our values and beliefs as Cree people. Understanding and using the language allows people to access our every part of our culture. I think people need to know our belief system to be able to understand why language is so important to us.
