About this event

Dr. Doris Bergen (PhD) is the Chancellor Rose and Ray Wolfe Chair in Holocaust Studies in the Department of History, University of Toronto. She is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan (BA’82).

In her lecture, Prof. Bergen will counter assumptions about silence and taboos that often frame discussions of sex and sexuality in Holocaust and genocide studies. The scholar will emphasize in her presentation why it matters to pay particular attention to discourses pertaining sex and sexualities in Holocaust survivor accounts.
