Recitals and Juries

Recitals and juries act as final exams for studio classes:

MUAP 143, 243, 333, 343, 433, and 443 in Term One, and MUAP 145, 245, 335, 345, 435, and 445 in Term Two.

These gradually increase in difficulty as students progress through their four years of applied lessons.

In first year, a 10-minute noon-hour recital is strongly suggested for all students. In second year, a 10-minute noon-hour recital is required for all students. Both first- and second-year students will complete a 10-minute jury at the end of both terms.

Recitals occur in second term. Third-year non-performance majors will perform a 15-minute recital. Third-year performance majors and fourth-year non-performance majors will perform a 30-minute recital. Fourth-year performance majors will perform a 60-minute recital. These recitals function as a culmination of many years of hard work, talent, and dedication. In third and fourth year, all students will perform a 10-minute jury at the end of first term only
