About

The University of Saskatchewan Concert Band under the direction of Dr. Glen Gillis is comprised of musicians from across campus and community that includes both music and non-music majors. The ensemble performs a wide variety of artistic repertoire for this medium in various Saskatoon area and campus venues. The Concert Band was the first instrumental ensemble sanctioned in the Department of Music in 1961.
For Concert Band, no audition is required and open to any on-campus students or community players who play a wind or percussion instrument. Rehearsal/meeting times are Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Quance Theatre. Participants can register for credit (MUAP 202.1 section 01) or for non-credit (MUAP 120.0 section 01). For members of the community there is a nominal fee ($50/term or $100/year).
