University Chorus
About
Currently conducted by Dr. Jennifer Lang & James Hawn, the popular non-auditioned University Chorus rehearses once a week and is a fine example of the community outreach program of the U of S School for the Arts. The Chorus draws approximately half of its membership from the University student body, faculty, and staff, with the remainder consisting of community members from Saskatoon and surrounding area. Besides presenting concerts to Saskatoon audiences and occasionally collaborating with the Regina Philharmonic Chorus, the University Chorus regularly performs choral-orchestral masterworks with the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra such as the Requiems of Verdi, Mozart, Fauré, Duruflé, and Brahms, Haydn's Creation, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Orff's Carmina Burana and Vaughn-William's Sea Symphony.
