Instrument Rentals and Equipment
The School for the Arts (Music) provides access to hundreds of instruments for students enrolled in Applied Music classes. Non-music majors can also access these instruments for ensemble participation. There is no charge to borrow an instrument, but repairs caused by damage to the instrument are the responsibility of the borrower. To arrange to borrow an instrument, contact the Office Coordinator for Music, music@usask.ca.
Piano majors may sign out a key that gives them access to two practice rooms with grand pianos, located in the Education Building. These keys, like all keys, are subject to the University's key policy.
Lockers (in the Education Building) are available for yearly use on a first-come-first-serve basis. There is no locker fee, and students are to provide their own lock. There is a limit of one locker per person. The locker usage term is from September to the end of April. All students must clean out their lockers by the end of April. Any content left in the lockers after that time will be removed and discarded, unless alternate arrangements are made. If you are a student with a larger instrument, such as a tuba or double bass, a wooden storage locker can be arranged for your use. Though there is no fee, there is a $20 refundable deposit required to sign out a key.
