Kathryn Brunskill
2023 Community Arts and Artisanship Certificate Graduate
I have lived my whole life in the parkland area of Saskatchewan and have found inspiration in the ever-changing climate with its different flora and fauna. As a farmer and gardener, I find joy in growing my own food and adding to the beauty of the landscape with flowers and plants. Painting is a wonderful extension of this and grounds me during the long winter months as I wait for the renewal of spring.
My pieces represent my three-year journey toward completion of the USask Artist and Artisanship Certificate program. As I progressed through the classes, I found that learning a variety the techniques and looking at other artists work was very freeing! I looked at a subject and knew that I had the tools in my toolbox to create my vision. My latest pieces are multimedia and during my explorations, I incorporated many of the techniques I learnt. The possibilities are endless in this art form, and I LOVE it! It is my hope that this exhibit inspires others to never stop learning and creating.
