My piece is a graphite and charcoal drawing of a women, I wanted to learn how to shade and add depth to a person’s face, while taking the Drawing I class I was able to experiment and explore many techniques of drawing. I typically work in acrylics and work with landscapes, but I felt like taking a step out of my comfort zone and trying portraiture. I really enjoyed the medium because it was really cool to see how you can create a detailed picture with only pencil and how an emotion can be shown through such a small idea.
