This painting was a birthday gift for my son. The subject matter is from a moment we shared on Salt Spring Island. These stairs took us up through the West Coast rainforest to an ocean overlook. The use of acrylics allowed me to apply my learnings from various artist instructors I had experienced during the pandemic. I am pleased with the results as the painting captures the West Coast vibe with memories of Emily Carr.
