Trumpeter/composer Dean McNeill is joined by Juno award winning guitarist Mike Rud (Montreal), acclaimed Canadian pianist Amada Tosoff (Toronto), and by the new UofS Dr. David Kaplan Chair in Strings Dr. Véronique Mathieu, for an intimate evening of inspired music orchestrated for jazz quintet, string quartet, and, voice. The musical compositions to be performed are inspired by well-respected Canadian authors and poets with repertoire derived from Mike Rud’s Notes on Montreal CD (http://notesonmontreal.comAmanda Tosoff’s Words CD (http://amandatosoff.com), and Guido Basso’s Juno award winning Lost In The Stars CD! The ensemble will also include some of Saskatoon’s top up-and-coming musical talent namely UofS students Jillian Ramsay (voice) & Hannah Lissel-DeCorby (violin), recent UofS B.Mus. graduate Nevin Buehler (bass), Kyle Krysa (drums), and longtime members of the SSO string section Jim Legge (viola) and Scott McKnight (cello).
