In this class we study issues arising within emotion research. Is emotion bodily, cognitive, or affective? Does emotion have evolutionary or socio-cultural roots? Are emotions irrational? Are emotions self-deceptive? How do we know robots, animals, other people have emotion? Is emotion immoral, or central to morality?
