On Nov. 28, the College of Arts and Science hosted a celebration honouring recent winners of awards for research, scholarly and artistic work.

The event at the University Club gave faculty across the college an opportunity to meet and learn about the work of colleagues who received major research awards from the College of Arts and Science and the University of Saskatchewan in 2018.

Dr. Ingrid Pickering
Acting Vice-Dean Ingrid Pickering served as emcee for the event.

“Your engagement and energy, your creativity and your innovation: they are essential to the success of our college. And if I can quote our college plan, you inspire us to think big and be bold,” said Dr. Ingrid Pickering (PhD), the college’s acting vice-dean research, scholarly and artistic work, in an address to the faculty in attendance.

The award-winning faculty members gave short presentations and answered questions about their work, which spans the fields of history, art, computer science and biology.

Well-attended by faculty, the celebration is planned to become an annual event in the college.
