Title
Fluoroborate Chemistry: From basic questions of stability to the design of "true" theranostics.
Abstract
The quest for a one-step aqueous radiofluorination has been a challenge for a number of decades. Our lab has been interested in the pursuit of boron as natural fluorophile for designing radiotracer precursors that can be labeled in a single step in water or mixed aqueous media. Such would help streamline the radiofluorination of molecular complex tracers and thereby enable the synthesis of mixed isotope theranostics where the chemically indistinguishable isotopologs can be used interchangeably for diagnosis and therapy. My lab's ongoing research in translating basic chemistry to possible clinical applications will be discussed.
