Chemistry Weekly Seminar-Adam Leontowich, Scientist
Adam Leontowich, Scientist in Canadian Light Source, University of Saskatchewan, will present a seminar at 1:30 pm in Thorvaldson 159.
Title
Beamlines and Bullets: A Career at the Synchrotron
Abstract
This X-ray centric talk will provide an overview of my current formal and informal activities as a scientist at the Canadian Light Source synchrotron. The first half will focus on the Wiggler Low Energy beamline of the Brockhouse Sector. The beamline is the home of the best instruments in Canada for high-resolution powder X-ray diffraction and small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS). In the second half of the talk, I’ll describe a personal research project: Fragmentation of lead hunting ammunition in game meat observed with synchrotron radiation.
