Literature Matters: Writing Darkness
A talk and a reading by Sheheryar B. Sheikh
Wednesday, March 15, 7:30 p.m.
Social Hall, Grace-Westminster United Church (505 10th Street East)
All are welcome
Sheikh will explain why he chose a degenerate and despicable character for the protagonist in his work-in-progress, You Can Call Me Al. He will examine the hero’s journey, which is Joseph Campbell’s early-20th-century theoretical construct of a transcultural, foundational archetype for telling stories of individuals journeying through life.
