This lecture surveys some features of human decision making and how they differ from traditional economic models. Humans are limited in their ability to calculate, swayed by their emotions, and at times motivated by forces that some economists have failed to appreciate.

The lecture considers some ways in which the replacement of human with artificial decision makers may influence how individuals make decisions and its broader impact on the economy.
