About the speaker
Margret Cornish is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Institute of Asian Research, School of Public Policy and Global Affairs at the University of British Columbia. She will be speaking on the role of China in the global order and the consequences for Canada. This is a significant issue for Canada given the recent tension over the detention of Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou and the retaliatory arrest of Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor as well as the crackdown on democracy activists in Hong Kong.
