Science Ambassador Celebration
You are invited to join a celebration of the USASK Science Ambassador Program

The celebration will feature presentations from student science ambassadors as well as a guest presentation from pioneering Aboriginal scientist and Canadian senator the Honourable Dr. Lillian Dyck.
The USASK Science Ambassador Program pairs senior university STEM students (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) with remote Aboriginal community schools to support creative and culturally relevant science teaching. Hosted in partner communities for four to six weeks, science ambassadors act as in situ academic mentors whose enthusiasm for inquiry-based learning improves Aboriginal student experiences and perceptions of the STEM disciplines, encourages successful transitions to secondary school, and ignites interest and ambition toward post-secondary opportunities.
This spring, 24 Science Ambassadors worked in 12 remote Northern communities, reaching a total of 160 teachers and educational assistants, and 2,430 students—wow!
