Ernie Walker becomes distinguished professor
The renowned archaeologist and forensic anthropologist is honoured by the university
Department of Archaeology & Anthropology Professor Ernie Walker has been awarded the title of distinguished professor by the University of Saskatchewan.
The title, which gives lifelong recognition for exceptional contributions to research, scholarly or artistic work, was awarded to Walker based on his outstanding reputation as an archaeologist and forensics expert. Walker’s twin careers as an archeological researcher and a forensic anthropologist have seen him leading field digs at prehistoric sites and working on murder investigations for law enforcement agencies across Canada.
Previously, Walker has been recognized as a College of Arts & Science alumnus of influence, a member of the Saskatchewan Order of Merit, a 3M teaching fellow and an officer of the Order of Canada.
