Bobby Shew will also perform a concert with the University of Saskatchewan Jazz Ensemble at 7:30 pm.

Born in Albuquerque, NM, Grammy-nominated musician Bobby Shew’s love affair with jazz started in childhood and has become the driving force in his life. Shew toured as lead trumpeter for Elvis Presley, Barbra Streisand, Robert Goulet, Steve Allen, Paul Anka, Connie Stevens and Tom Jones. He worked in Los Angeles as a first-call studio musician while continuing to perform on big bands with his own highly regarded quintet and sextet. The recipient of three Grammy nominations and several lifetime achievement awards, Shew is also co-designer/developer of several Yamaha instruments and mouthpieces and is an accomplished teacher of music.
