Neil Chilton, a professor in the Department of Biology, is the recipient of a 2015/16 University of Saskatchewan Students' Union Teaching Excellence Award.

The USSU Teaching Excellence Awards, which are selected by students each year, recognize those “who have demonstrated enthusiasm, organization and fairness in evaluation, providing exceptional commitment and support to their classrooms."

Chilton’s research examines fundamental questions and applied problems relating to parasites, such as ticks and helminths. His parasitology laboratory is also studying tick-borne bacteria and, in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health, conducting a tick and tick-borne disease surveillance program in the province.
