The University of Saskatchewan Department of Music High School Select-Jazz (HSS-Jazz) project is an opportunity for some of Saskatchewan’s most promising high school-aged students to work with outstanding and award-winning faculty in an intensive and hands-on educational environment that culminates in a performance at the Manhattan Ballroom; this project allows students to work, create, interact and network with other highly motivated people of similar age and similar musical interests. Students are selected based on the nomination from their respective school-based music teachers. In its 14th season the UofS

HSS-Jazz fall 2018 dates include

  • Thursday October 25 (7-9 PM)
  • Friday October 26 (7-9 PM)
  • and Saturday October 27 (9 AM – 4 PM then break then HSS-Jazz concert at the Manhattan Ballroom, 7:00 PM), 2018.

Faculty includes Prof. Dean McNeill, *Mike Rud (Montreal), Amanda Tosoff (Toronto), Paul Suchan, Nick Fanner (*Juno award winner). For more information contact dean.mcneill@usask.ca.
