Diels-Alder aldol group selective reactions organic synthesis polypropionates stereoselective reactions total synthesis
The objectives of my research program focus on the design, development, and demonstration of novel strategies and methodologies for application in the synthesis of natural products and their analogues. New synthetic methodology is often required to support these objectives and applications of strategy-level group selective reactions (e.g., desymmetrization, kinetic resolution) are emphasized. Our research has been generally directed along three often interrelated themes: i) asymmetric synthesis by group selective reactions; ii) new approaches to control selectivity in aldol and Diels-Alder reactions; iii) total synthesis of 'complex' natural products.
