Drama alumnus returns home for movie screening

One of the Department of Drama’s most widely-recognized alumnus, Kim Coates, returned to Saskatoon recently for the screening of his latest feature film, 45 RPM.

The coming-of-age movie, filmed in Regina and set in the fictional town of Goose Lake, Sask., premiered at the nearly sold-out Broadway Theatre on March 27. Coates, who plays a police officer in the movie, flew home from Los Angeles to attend the screening. After the movie was finished, Coates was one of three individuals invoved with making the film who took time to answer audience questions.

Coates has had a very successful career in Hollywood, appearing in prominent television series such as CSI Miami, CSI NY, Entourage and Prison Break. He has also appeared in numerous feature films. A full filomgraphy for Coates can be accessed here.
