The work of William Shakespeare continues to take up enormous space in the world of arts and culture, as well as in research and education, even while generations of dialogue between audiences, artists, and scholars have led to difficult and necessary criticisms of Shakespeare's work. This panel will consider the question: why does Shakespeare continue to be so dominant? Jessica McDonald, lecturer in the Department of English, will be in conversation with Kayvon Khoshkam, the artistic director of Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan, and Skye Brandon, former co-interim leader of Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan, educator, and longtime Shakespearean actor.
Literature Matters is a free public lecture series sponsored by the University of Saskatchewan Department of English.
