Barbara A. Holdrege is a professor of religious studies and chair of the South Asian Studies Committee at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her publications include Hindus, Jews, and the Politics of Comparison: Embodied CommunitiesandModels of Religious Tradition; Bhakti and Embodiment: Fashioning Divine Bodies and Devotional Bodies in Krsna Bhakti; Re­figuring the Body: Embodiment in South Asian Religions; Veda and Torah: Transcending the Textuality of Scripture; Ritual and Power; and a forthcoming monograph, The Body and the Self: Hindu Contributions to Theories of Embodiment.

This event is presented by the University of Saskatchewan and the Hindu Society of Saskatchewan as part of the Vedanta Endowment Lecture Series.
