About the book
This thoughtful and compelling study asks difficult questions about what it means to be Canadian in 2022, amidst widespread domestic political changes and substantial global upheaval. Peter MacKinnon addresses the key political and policy changes of our age: populism, Indigenous rights, migration and the incorporation of immigrants, economic opportunity and the prospects for robust and sustainable public institutions. WIth his usual insight and courage, MacKinnon challenges Canada to be better and to develop worthy and sustainable national policies that can capitalize on the potential of this great country and address the creeping and largely unaddressed policy needs and opportunities. MacKinnon applies his legal background, years in university administration and decades of observations of public policy in Canada to the issues facing the country and its citizens.
