About this event

LANback: Creating Digital Aboriginal Sovereign Display Territories, Theatre Making During a Global Pandemic

Gathering to witness theatre performance is fundamentally an experience of liveness, and as practitioners translate theatrical forms and methods into digital worlds, questions emerge about the nature of liveness in digital spaces. Extending from David Garneau’s concept of “aboriginal sovereign display territories,” this talk engages with current theatre projects to discuss the opportunities that live/synchronous digital worlds offer in the pursuit of Indigenous artistic sovereignty.
