In collaboration with the Association Francophone pour le Savoir (Acfas), the University of Saskatchewan and La Cité universitaire francophone de l'université de Regina are organizing for the first time the “Ma thèse en 180 secondes”(MT180) provincial competition at the Relais, Rendez-vous Francophone in Saskatoon on March 20, 2020.

This event is the Francophone counterpart to the 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, which has been held at various universities across Saskatchewan. Competitors have 180 seconds to present publicly their doctoral research in French in front of a jury. The winner of the MT180 provincial competition will have the opportunity to participate in the national finals at Sherbrooke University on May 5–6, 2020. Traveling and accommodation fees will be covered. For more information about the MT180 competition, please visit the Acfas website.

The competition will include a master’s category with similar rules. The winner of the master’s competition will receive $200. There will also be a public choice prize of $100.

Depending on its budget, Acfas-Saskatchewan will be able to cover part of the travel and/or accommodation fees of candidates from outside of Saskatoon. Competitors will have the opportunity to attend training webinars provided by Acfas to help them prepare their presentation.

If you would like to be part of the competition, please visit the following link to read the eligibility criteria and fill out the application form no later than Feb. 7, 2020.
