The Grass Tomb

Oh T’ae-sok’s The Grass Tomb is an unusual piece of dramatic creation, since it attempts to break away from realistic or naturalistic trends which have predominated in Korean theatre since its modern inception. The uniqueness of the play lies in the highly sophisticated rendering of the playwright’s philosophical insight into universe and society, which is based on time-honored traditions of Eastern philosophy.
