A free evening of music in celebration of Dr. David L. Kaplan (PhD)

The Department of Music is honoured to present a concert celebrating the life and influence of Dr. David L. Kaplan (1923–2015), a composer, Department of Music faculty member and inspirational leader.

The concert features performers such as Dr. Véronique Mathieu (DMus), holder of the David L. Kaplan Chair in Music, and Dr. Glen Gillis (PhD), who will perform music written for him by Dr. Kaplan. The concert features members of the Department of Music faculty as well as professional musicians from the community, including members of the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra.

The evening will include the dedication of a new David L. Kaplan bust by artist Adrian Golban. The bust was commissioned through the generous support of Xiaoping (Bob) Xu and Ling Chen, former students of Dr. Kaplan.
