Artist Talk by Sandra Semchuk: Continuing the Work of Holding Your World Together

Canadian photographer Sandra Semchuk discusses her recent work, the centrality of her collaborations and aspects of her 3D videography

Event

Please join us in a celebration honouring Canadian photographer Sandra Semchuk (BFA'70), recipient of the 2018 Governor General’s Award in Visual and Media Arts. Semchuk is a co-founder of The Photographers Gallery and a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan.

Thursday, Sept.13
7 pm
College Art Gallery One, Peter MacKinnnon Building

Semchuk will discuss her recent work, the centrality of her collaborations and aspects of her 3D videography. In her recent work Semchuk asks: What opportunities are inherent in this moment locally, nationally and globally that may lead us towards deeper recognitions across generations, cultures and species? How do I, an artist, engage the wider-than-human to learn to grow in ways that open the past and human narratives to attentive and intimate scrutiny?

Co-sponsored by the Deptartment of Art and Art History, Kenderdine/College Art Galleries, Remai Modern and PAVED Arts.
