Take your research from the classroom to the community, and spark a conversation through film!

The College of Arts & Science and Interdisciplinary Centre for Culture and Creativity are currently accepting proposals from A & S faculty and graduate students for our ongoing film series at the Broadway Theatre. The Movies That Matter monthly film series runs from September to April (usually held on a Monday evening) throughout the academic year. Screenings are followed by a panel discussion and/or Q & A with the audience as a means for faculty and graduate students to share their expertise or insightful views on the film subject with a wide audience.

All proceeds from the screenings support Broadway Theatre and Interdisciplinary Centre for Culture and Creativity.

The following dates are available for screenings:

  • Monday, September 18th, 2017
  • Monday, October 30th, 2017
  • Monday, November 27th, 2017
  • December TBD by interest
  • Monday, January 22nd or 29th, 2018
  • February 26th, 2018
  • March 19th or 26th, 2018
  • April TBD by interest

If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please submit the title and director of your film selection, and a brief rationale explaining how the film is relevant to your academic teaching or research. Please also include a list of suggested panelists for the discussion, and your preferred date(s) for the screening to take place. All entries must be submitted to i.ccc@usask.ca no later than September 10th, 2017.


Please note: For all Graduate and Undergraduate Students who are submitting a proposal, you must  be able to confirm the participation of a faculty member in the planning of the event and as a participant in the discussion panel.
