Pi Day 2026!

The Pi Day 2026 contest results are in!

News

Thank you to everyone who took part in the 2026 Math & Stats Pi Day reciting contest last Friday!

Established in 2019, the Pi Recitation Contest is a celebration of number, geometry, memory, precision, perseverance, and the unbounded potential of abstract reasoning and the human mind. It serves as an important reminder to the USask community that one can (and should!) take delight in mathematical pursuits.

62 students, faculty, and staff members representing seven colleges participated in the 2026 Pi recitation contest. Here are the results:

1st: Parker Tait – 3241 digits (a new department record!!!)

2nd: Levin Wiebe – 133 digits

3rd: Macie Sander – 122 digits

CONGRATULATIONS to all who participated, and we look forward to celebrating with you again in March 2027.
