Winds of the North: A Survey of the Canadian Wind Band Tradition and Repertoire highlights the importance of Canadian contributions to wind band and music education practices. This substantial volume explores the unique history of wind band in Canada, balanced with contemporary perspectives and representative repertoire. Dr. Darrin Oehlerking (DMA), Professor of Music in the USask School for the Arts and Associate Dean of Student Affairs for the College of Arts and Science, is compiler and editor of the book.

This event will feature a short presentation about the book and musical performances by The Brass Days Brass Quintet (Dean McNeill, Kayla Solomon, Chris Congos, Dave Dick and Brent Longstaff) and The Saskatchewinds (conducted by Darrin Oehlerking).
