About this event
For over 25 years, Land’s End Ensemble has captivated audiences with their performances of landmark works from the 20th and 21st centuries—historical documentations of our time by composers of our generation. The Ensemble has commissioned and premiered over 150 works by Canadian and Albertan composers, creating a lasting legacy in contemporary music. Their collaborations span globally renowned composers such as John Corigliano, Allan Gordon Bell, Omar Daniel, Vincent Ho, Dorothy Chang, Alexina Louie, Jocelyn Morlock, Salina Fisher, and R. Murray Schafer. Their critically acclaimed album Gravity and Grace earned both a JUNO Award and a Western Canadian Music Award in 2014.
This event will offer a rare opportunity for students and community members to engage directly with the Ensemble through both performance and dialogue, enriching our understanding of contemporary classical music and its cultural impact.
FARLS is hosted by the University of Saskatchewan School for the Arts. See upcoming FARLS events.
