Prof. Jill Gunn named Acting Vice-Dean, Academic
Jill Gunn will fill the role currently held by Gordon DesBrisay, who is beginning an administrative leave on Jan. 1, 2016
Jill Gunn, associate professor from the Department of Geography and Planning and associate faculty member of the School of Environment and Sustainability, will be joining the College of Arts & Science dean’s office in the role of Acting Vice-Dean Academic while Gordon DesBrisay is on administrative leave from January 1 to August 31, 2016.
Dr. Gunn holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Saskatchewan, specializing in environmental assessment. She has been a faculty member with the Department of Geography and Planning since 2009 and serves as Chair of the Regional and Urban Planning program. She has also served as Chair of the Faculty Council of the College of Arts and Science from 2013 to 2015.
Dr. Gunn’s professional and academic experience has spanned the areas of environmental assessment, regional and urban planning, and natural resources management. She has provided her expertise to many federal and provincial governmental agencies as well as private, public and municipal organizations. Dr. Gunn has served on several college and university committees, and holds professional and association affiliations both within the university and the community.
