About this event

Listening to the Voices of Children in William Blake’s Songs of Innocence and of Experience
with Lisa Vargo

William Blake’s Songs of Innocence and of Experience bring together word and visual image in a manner that suggests how complexity lies within simplicity. This talk will introduce Blake’s ideas of innocence and vision and explore how the voice of the child in “The Lamb” and “The Chimney Sweeper” serves as a vehicle for political and social protest. We will put on our “double vision” glasses and have some fun along with enlightenment.
