About this event

Moderated by Henry Lau, public arts consultant for the City of Saskatoon, this event features Josh Wāpiskisiw, Peace Akintade and Lautaro Reyes sharing their experience as community-engaged artists.

About the artists:

Interdisciplinary Poet, Peace Akintade-Oluwagbeye (she/her) is the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild Poet Laureate of Saskatchewan for 2024-2026 and Saskatoon’s Write Out Loud Program Coordinator.

Lautaro Reyes (he/him) is a set-designer, actor, director and multimedia visual artist. He is currently crafting a play that will reflect the experience of immigrants in Saskatoon as part of Persephone’s incubator Series.

As a lifetime artist, Josh Wāpiskisiw (he/him), mixes graffiti with Cree language and native slang. He is a 2024 Steps Public Art CreateSpace Artists-in-Residence.

Henry Lau (he/him) is currently the Public Arts Consultant for the City of Saskatoon. For the past three decades Henry has led projects in architecture and urban design in Saskatoon and beyond.
