Emergency Response Plans

As a faculty member and staff of the College of Arts and Science, you occupy an office, and you may utilize classrooms, research labs and meeting rooms, on a daily basis.

Please familiarize yourself with the Emergency Response Plans ERPs for the buildings in which you spend your time daily.

Each Arts and Science building ERP is a comprehensive document that provides preparedness and response information on what to do in the event of potential emergencies relating to work, academic and research activities happening in that particular building. All university personnel are expected to become familiar with the ERP(s) which are applicable to their particular work areas and work activities.

All current Arts and Science building ERPs are available on the Safety Resources sharepoint site

Professors & Instructors: Know Your Evacuation Protocols

All professors and instructors are being asked to orient their students during general course orientation session about how to respond in the event of an emergency. This includes:

  • Reviewing the evacuation route from the course location to the appropriate marshalling area.
  • Knowing the nearest safe area or shelter in the event of severe weather or a building lockdown.

Buildings that have maps for such Emergency Evacuation Protocols (downloadable PDFs) are listed below. If your office building and/or classroom building is not listed below, refer to the more comprehensive Building ERP on the OHC website.
