Scholarships and Awards
The Department of Psychology offers one convocation award to the Most Outstanding Graduate in the department. Students are also eligible for general College of Arts and Science scholarships and awards, and are encouraged to apply for external awards in addition to those provided by the university. The Gordon A. McMurray Prize
The Gordon A. McMurray Prize is awarded annually to a student completing the B.A. Honours degree in Psychology. Selection is based on outstanding academic achievement. The recipient will also have shown promise of becoming a contributor to the research or practice of Psychology. This prize is named in honour of Gordon A. McMurray, the first Head of the Psychology Department in 1950 and is valued at $100. Dr. McMurray remained as Head of the Department of Psychology from 1950-1975. No application is required. The recipient of this prize is selected by the department.
