College participates in Summer Institute in India

The College of Arts & Science helped to organize and deliver the Summer Institute of Global Health and Development this month in India. Co-organizer Tannistha Samanta is a previous visiting professor to the college. Students learn global health and development at IIT Gandhinagar

AHMEDABAD: Students from various institutes learnt how to contribute to global health and development at Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) in a month long event called — 'Summer Institute on Global Health and Development'- at Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar which concluded on June 12, 2015. Over 40 students took part in the event which was jointly organized by IITGN and University of Saskatchewan, Canada under the support of Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL).

A PhD student of Biological Engineering at IITGN Sanjay Kumar who was a participant of the event said, "Taking part in the event has enabled me to connect my work to the social needs and issues in a great manner. The event has been very beneficial. I have also connected to various experts with whom I can collaborate in future."
