Supervisor: Dr. Benjamin HoyMy thesis will investigate sex trafficking and prostitution along the Windsor-Detroit border. My work seeks to understand how fear of the degradation of the ‘family model’ changed how Canada and the United States understood and policed “sexual deviancy” in transnational spaces between 1870 when infrastructure developments and lax border inadvertently expanded opportunities for sexual exploration and the 1930 when both governments intensified their control.
